Katie Turnquist PT, DPT

Katie grew up in the suburbs of Chicago before moving to Washington to embrace a more active lifestyle—with milder weather and beautiful scenery to match. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and her Doctor of Physical Therapy from St. Ambrose University, a small university along the Mississippi River in Iowa. A lifelong soccer player, Katie’s love for movement and human mechanics started on the field and naturally evolved into a passion for physical therapy.

Katie knew early on that she wanted to become a physical therapist. Throughout her soccer career, minor injuries introduced her to PT—an environment where she consistently felt supported, encouraged, and empowered to return to what she loved. Her passion deepened as she observed PT in a variety of settings, but it was her very first experience shadowing pediatric therapy that made everything click. She instantly connected with the playful, creative, and goal‑driven nature of pediatric work and knew she had found her professional home.

Katie has always enjoyed working with children. Her experience includes outpatient pediatric clinics in the Chicago area, working in a daycare setting, and participating in her high school’s inclusive PE program, where she exercised alongside peers with disabilities.

Outside of the clinic, you’ll often find Katie exploring Seattle neighborhoods or heading out on local hiking trails—Rattlesnake Ridge in North Bend remains a favorite. She’s also an avid movie fan (especially Shrek and How to Train Your Dragon—a devoted DreamWorks enthusiast!) and has recently taken up cooking. Katie loves experimenting with flavors and recipes, particularly using fresh local seafood.
