Paige Hirata
Physical Therapist
Paige grew up in Woodinville, Washington, before attending Pacific University in Oregon, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. She then pursued her Doctor of Physical Therapy at Franklin Pierce University in Arizona, ultimately returning to Washington to begin her career in pediatric physical therapy.
Her interest in physical therapy was sparked during middle school when she underwent therapy herself due to an injury. This experience ignited her passion for the field, which deepened as she shadowed various clinics throughout high school and her undergraduate studies. Paige has always enjoyed working with children, having taught gymnastics for four years and volunteered at elementary schools. When she discovered that pediatric physical therapy was a viable career option, she was immediately drawn to it.
Paige's favorite part of being a pediatric physical therapist is the opportunity to help her patients and their families achieve their goals and witness their progress. She finds joy in seeing the smiles that come from hard work and fun during therapy sessions. Creating a positive and enjoyable learning environment is essential to her practice, as is advocating for her patients to ensure they receive the necessary support. Her experience includes working in outpatient pediatrics with a diverse range of diagnoses, such as autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and developmental delays. She has also provided therapy in aquatic and rock-climbing settings. Paige is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment that enables children who struggle with recreational activities to participate fully through physical therapy.
Outside of her professional life, Paige is an avid reader and enjoys exploring various craft hobbies, including woodworking, crocheting, and mosaics. She also loves rock climbing and bouldering and enjoys leisurely walks through neighborhoods and nature paths.
